Objective lens is the core optical component of microscope. Various manufacturers have various models and specifications, which are generally divided into four categories according to the degree of color difference correction:
(1) General achromatic objective lens: This is the most common objective lens. Although the labels of various manufacturers are different, there is generally the word "ACh".
(2) Flat field achromatic objective lens: generally, this kind of objective lens is marked with the word plan. The field of view of this kind of objective lens is flat, which is very suitable for micrograph and comfortable to observe.
(3) Semi compound achromatic objective lens, generally with the word FL, can correct the color difference and spherical difference of red and blue. This can be used for fluorescence observation and so on. It is a relatively advanced objective lens.
(4) Apochromatic objective lens: marked with APO, it is a first-class objective lens for observation and micrography. Their performance is only limited by the laws of physics. The objective lens has excellent correction and extremely high numerical aperture, so it has the maximum resolution, color purity, contrast and image flatness in observation and micrography. Such as Olympus uplan SAPO 100x / 1.40 oil objective lens.
